Duale stressed that true leadership requires respect for authority, especially the presidency, no matter the leader's position in government.

Environment Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has told off elected leaders and Kenyans who are fond of hurling insults at President William Ruto.

Duale stressed that true leadership requires respect for authority, especially the presidency, no matter the leader's position in government.

Speaking in Londiani, Kericho County on Friday, the CS emphasised that showing respect is essential for gaining respect from others.

"A decent and God-fearing leader must respect those in authority and more so the presidency which is a symbol of national unity. Politicians abuse the president, we've seen other people abuse the president. If you want to be respected by your wife, husband or children and everybody else we must first show respect," Duale said when he presided over the 47th graduation at Kenya Forestry College.

The CS urged Kenya Kwanza leaders, particularly those who have recently disagreed with the President, to continue their support as he works to fulfil his agenda for Kenya.

Duale also warned them against publicly contradicting the President's stance on national issues. He stressed the importance of unity among leaders to effectively carry out their responsibilities

"I ask Kenya Kwanza leaders, all of us were with the president, campaigned with him, committed ourselves collectively to the manifesto of the president... Let all of us deliver [on our mandate] for the sake of the people of Kenya," the CS said.

Duale added that the challenges the country faces do not belong only to either side of the political divide but to all Kenyans.

He highlighted that including Opposition politicians in the government was meant to ensure that all political sides collaborate to address national issues and find lasting solutions.

"The problems of our country are not for the government or the Opposition alone. All of us in the ruling party and the opposition have one job, which is to solve the problems of Kenyans," the CS added.
